O óleo de petitgrain é obtido, por destilação a vapor, das ramagens, folhas e frutos verdes da laranjeira amarga (Citrus aurantium var. amara). Tem propriedades algo similares às do neroli (óleo obtido das flores da mesma planta), embora seja considerado menos sedativo e a fragrância menos requintada. É um calmante, relaxante e anti-depressivo.  É também considerado um fixador em perfumaria. 
Constituintes principais: acetato de linalilo, linalool, α-terpineol.
