Wheat germ (Triticum sativum) is the richest natural source of vitamin E. Its oil, when obtained by cold pressing, maintains high levels of vitamin E and is often added to other base oils to prevent its rancification . It revitalises the skin and strengthens the blood vessels, being useful in the prevention of varicose veins.
Due to its consistency, this oil is usually used in massagings in combination with others (eg sweet almond oil or grape seed oil) at a dilution of about 10%.
