The tea tree is a plant of Australian origin that was used by Aborigines for the treatment of respiratory problems. Tea tree essential oil is used as a cutaneous antiseptic because of its bactericidal and fungicidal properties. It is applied in the treatment of acne and to heal cuts and insect stings. Its topical use may also be useful in the treatment of vaginal infections.

The distillation of ylang-ylang (Cananga odorata) is done in stages, resulting in oils with different qualities (complete, extra and grades I, II and III).
